Clinical Supervision

I offer clinical supervision for qualified CBT therapists and trainee therapists working with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and integrative approaches.

I have been providing clinical supervision since 2022 and have completed specialist training in supervision with Royal Holloway University of London and within my NHS role.

My Approach

I offer BABCP aligned CBT supervision. At the start of our work together, we will have a collaborative discussion about the type of supervision you find most helpful. This includes exploring:

  • the style of supervision you prefer

  • what you would like to gain from supervision

  • the areas of clinical work you would like to develop

  • your longer-term professional goals and career development

This helps us shape supervision in a way that feels supportive, relevant and meaningful for your practice. We can then review these goals over time to ensure supervision continues to meet your needs as a therapist.

Alongside CBT, my supervision approach may also be informed by my additional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) where this may be helpful to the therapist’s clinical work.

What Supervision Includes

Supervision provides a safe and supportive safe for reflective and evidence based practice. Supervision is an essential aspect of clinical practice in order to gain accreditation and for continued professional development. These sessions may include:

  • Case discussion and formulation

  • Reviewing interventions and treatment planning

  • Reflecting on therapeutic relationship dynamics

  • Risk management and ethical considerations

  • Therapist wellbeing and burnout prevention

  • Developing confidence and flexibility as a therapist and clinical decision making

  • Support towards accreditation where relevant

When working privately sometimes we need this space to share experiences and challenges that can come with managing sometimes a complex caseload. It’s also about learning about our strengths and weaknesses so we can grow as practitioners and provide the best possible care for our clients.

If you are a trainee, I have experience in working collaboratively with universities and courses, providing feedback and reports where needed.
